Title: BE MINDFUL OF HOW YOU USE YOUR TONGUE 
 
KEY TEXT: “A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape” (Proverbs 19:5 KJV). 
 
It is unfortunate that most souls go to eternal damnation before they know what they could have known freely while they were on earth. Some are in regret as to why they allowed themselves to be used by the enemy when their brain was fully intact, but it is a pity that any regret in hellfire is eternal. I learnt my lesson when I was in primary school not to use my tongue foolishly or carelessly. Back then, a friend of mine had a fight with another student. I was not there when they fought, but my friend came to me and asked me to tell the teacher that I was there in order to be a witness that the other pupil was at fault. I foolishly followed him and told the teacher that I was an eyewitness. The teacher then asked me to tell him where the fight took place. I was blabbing and looking for an escape route. The teacher got furious and flogged me seriously, and he then asked the two boys to go. I told myself that such a thing will never happen again in my lifetime. Exodus 20:16 KJV 
 
NOT EVEN FOR MONEY OR RECOGNITION: Many have become the enemies of God and man because they allow themselves to be used to say or do what is not in their lane to do. Many forced themselves into issues that had nothing to do with them, and because they wanted to prove to someone that they can fight for them or support them, they made false claims or witness to what they did not know. Some church ministers or company staffs that are well-respected and trusted by the senior pastor or managing director became tools in the hands of rebellious members because they either wanted favour or overnight popularity. They end up losing their dignity, and many lost their jobs. Proverbs 6:19 KJV 
 
NOTHING IS HIDDEN THAT WILL NOT BE KNOWN: Most people who seek favour or want to be known by all means are always short-sighted and unguarded in their ways. Their achievements never last before shame follows. The Bible says that a false witness will never go unpunished, as well as a traitor, backstabber and a betrayer. But such people will only focus on the gain, forgetting the pain that follows. Beloved in Christ, remember it takes hard work and commitment to build a healthy relationship, but it takes a minor act of ingenuity to destroy it. Please let the genuine fear of God reign in your life. Make sure you are genuinely born again. Mark 14:21 KJV
 
PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please have mercy on me, in any way I have ever given false witness or took part in another person’s issue falsely because of what I could gain. I repent and receive the grace not to be used by Satan, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 
 
REFLECTION: “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another” (Ephesians 4:25 KJV).
