TITLE: WHY WERE YOU CHOSEN BY GOD?

KEY TEXT: 1 Peter 2:9 KJV - But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

It is one thing to be called by God, another thing to hear or know that God is calling you, another thing to answer the call of God, and another thing to know why you were called by God. Many are so deaf that they cannot hear God's voice calling them. The world has so much engulfed them that their ears are closed by what they are pleasurably doing in iniquity. Some are hearing God call them. They are told by men of God, and God sometimes uses His little children to tell them He is calling them, but they refuse to answer Him. Why? Because they think they already answered a call to work in a well-paid company or are already in a flourishing business, so they have no time for God. 1 John 2:27 KJV 

YOU WHO PROFESS TO HAVE ANSWERED THE CALL: Many people are happy because they are born again. Most men of God are enjoying the call of God upon their lives, and even though the glory of God Almighty is upon their lives as they said, they never asked God what they were called for. Jesus Christ specifically told Apostle Paul and other apostles the reason He called them. Most of those who said that they are born again could not give an account of anything meaningful they have contributed to God's Kingdom during their donkey years of being born again. Many claim to be born again, yet they are still answerable to themselves. They do whatever they want, not minding if God approves of it or not. Deuteronomy 14:2 KJV 

GOD DOES NOT CALL WITHOUT A SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT: Study your Bible very well and see how God called His servants. He never called anyone without telling them what to do. Noah was to build an Ark, Moses was to lead the children of God out of the bondage in Egypt, Apostle Paul was to suffer for God by testifying about Him before kingdoms and Gentiles, etc., the list is endless. Can you still remember what God specifically told you to do for Him when you answered His call? You need to go back to God in prayer if you have forgotten or have never heard Him tell you what He called you for. In all, your life must showcase the glory of God, meaning holiness becomes your lifestyle as you answer God's call. Matthew 7:21-23 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord God, have mercy and forgive me if I have paraded myself as the one who has answered your call, yet living to fulfil my personal desires. I repent today and have decided to give up my will for your will to be done in my life, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5 KJV).
