Title: Are You Eternity-Conscious?

Key Text: 2 Thessalonians 1:9 KJV - Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.

Every true believer (without being told) would understand that this world is already ruled out. Nothing in this world should matter to the heavenly-minded children of God anymore. We should not be like the people of the world who are being carried away with this world’s fantasies. Humanity, in its limitations and inability or readiness to learn nor retain knowledge, is easily carried away with what its physical eyes see and what its physical ears hear. The deception of beauty in the natural has made many to forget the glorious beauty of Heaven and the horrible horrors of hellfire; hence, they live their lives in sin and iniquity. Galatians 6:8 KJV 

Do Not Lose Your Eternity for the Perishable Things of This World: You must remember that you will surely die or be raptured out of this world someday. So, what would you do if you died and realized that you never needed the things you laboured for on earth, especially if you were the type of believer who was not heavenly-conscious but lived your life for earthly possessions? Most Christians do not know how useless the things of this world really are. It is much more painful to see that the men and women of God, who have the mandate to enlighten the people about the vanities of this world, are wallowing in the ocean of worldliness themselves. The worldly lifestyle of some men and women of God is second to none. Romans 6:23 KJV 

How Are You Making Yourself Ready for Eternity? Most people who died never thought they would die. Man always dies with plans in his heart. The distance between man and eternity is so short that one can travel into eternity in under a second. You must do away with the pleasures of this world and embrace Christ in true holiness and righteousness before closing your eyes, unable to open them again, or only to open them before the judgment seat of Christ. Always live your life with eternity in mind. Matthew 25:46 KJV 

Prayer: O Lord, my God, grant me the grace to prepare myself for the life after this world. Please keep me from sin so that I can come to you stainless and pure, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

Reflection: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27 KJV).
