TITLE: THE DAMNABLE SPIRIT OF DISTRACTION 
 
KEY TEXT: Proverbs 4:25 KJV - Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
 
Not every believer knows the damage that distraction could do in one's life. Distraction is one of the most cruel weapons that Satan uses against the children of God. The spirit of distraction usually starts and finishes its business in a believer’s life. This spirit does not show mercy nor pity its victims. Its mission is to get one out of focus, turn him or her against his or her heavenly prospects, redirect the mind negatively, and truncate his or her ambition. Luke 21:34 KJV
 
WATCH OUT: The devil is never happy with believers who are committed to their heavenly goal and sees them as terrors to his kingdom. He knows God is always in love with believers who are faithful and focused on their duties, always there whenever He needs them, joyfully complying with instructions while others are murmuring and complaining, love to see the things of God done perfectly, do not care if the man of God or their leader is there or not, and their obedience is always prompt. Such believers are the number one target of Satan's bullets of destruction. These believers must understand that they do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against Satan's wicked powers; hence, watching and praying is demanded. Ephesians 6:10-12 KJV
 
ANYONE OR ANYTHING COULD BE USED AS AN AGENT OF DISTRACTION: The devil knows that the children of God are weak at watching, but they are good at praying. The Bible says to watch and pray. Watch everything and everyone closely, so you know what to do when they are about to be used as a distraction: minor offences, unnecessary conversations, evil thoughts, arguments, worries, and wanting appreciation. For one to allow himself or herself to be dragged into rebellious acts could be an act of distraction that could lead to eternal damnation. Every believer who has Heaven as their focus must pray earnestly against the spirit of distraction. Matthew 26:41 KJV
 
PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please shield me from every error of distraction and keep me focused, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 
 
REFLECTION: “And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction” (1 Corinthians 7:35).
