Title: DEPEND NOT ON THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS 
Key Text: Luke 10:20 KJV - Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in His love for the lost souls appointed seventy disciples, commissioned and gave them gifts for the mission to prosper. Gifts such as healing, deliverance, prophecies and so on. You can see why it is being called "THE GIFT". The gift is what you didn't work for or the outward sign of the presence of the Holy Spirit among the disciples. We read in the Bible how the seventy returned to Jesus Christ, not with the testimony of how many souls they won to Him, but how they were able to display the gifts He gave to them. Luke 10:17 KJV 

Jesus Christ Is More Interested In Your Soul: The seventy returned with the testimony that was of less value to Jesus Christ. They thought Jesus Christ would be singing and dancing if they told Him of how demons fled at the mention of His name. But that is not what Jesus Christ wanted to hear because it is natural for every knee to bow before His Supreme authority. Jesus Christ was more concerned about their names written in the Book of Life. Great man or woman of God, is your name in the Book of Life? Revelation 20:15 KJV 

The Fruits, Not The Gift: Beloved in Christ, you will end up in hellfire with all your gifts of singing, prophesying, healing and so on, if the nine fruit of the Spirit is missing in your life. Many believers are manifesting the gifts of the Spirit; they are respected and celebrated, but have no place in heaven. Their names are missing in the Book of Life. They have no fruit of the Spirit in them. Remember, the seventy left Jesus Christ in one day because they had no fruit of the Spirit in them (John 6:66). The gifts will take no one to heaven but holiness and true righteousness. Is your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life? Galatians 5:22-23 KJV 

Prayer: O Lord, please grant me the grace to keep myself holy and bear fruits worthy of your kingdom, so that I will not be a worker of iniquity at last, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

Reflection: "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:23 KJV).
