TOPIC: WHY THE SUDDEN COLDNESS IN THE CHURCH'S REVIVAL? 

Key Text: Isaiah 5:20 KJV - Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Many believers are crying and weeping because of the coldness and weakness of today's church. Many wonder why the sudden coldness of the wave of revival that was moving around the nations a few years ago. It is a question every believer should ask himself or herself. Are we supposed to ask the Holy Spirit or ourselves this question? I suggest we ask ourselves. Asking the Holy Spirit might result in adding sin to sin, because a majority of believers have gone astray and became sheep without Shepherd. Men of God have made themselves gods over themselves and lords over the sheep under their care. Acts 3:19 KJV 

Why Wouldn't Revival Stop and the Church of God Turn Cold? Have we forgotten that the Holy Spirit is the Chief Revivalist and the power behind revival? Do you know that the Holy Spirit needs a human vessel to work through? Did you know that the aim of a revival is for soul restoration and human reconciliation with God? If you do, you should know why revival has stopped. Iniquity has now become a celebrity in the church of Christ, which automatically made the Holy Spirit to be sent away from the body of Christ. Men have now made themselves God over men, and they are now wise in their own eyes. Isaiah 5:21 KJV 

The Weeping and Repenting Church Became Hardened and Rebellious: The reason the church has suddenly become cold is because what used to be a sin and serious offence has now become a normal thing. The things Jesus takes as sin are now taken as a way of life by those carrying out revivals and preachings. Those who are to be revived are never ready for what Jesus is ready for. Many agents of revival that were sent by Jesus Christ have left their positions and started doing what they were not sent to do because of the fear of men and the love of money. Taking correction has now become sacrilege in the church. The revival must begin with you and I by total repentance if the Holy Spirit must come back to work in global revival. Deuteronomy 5:32 KJV 

Prayer: O Lord, my God, have mercy and forgive us for all our rebellion and stubbornness. Please, send down the Spirit of revival back to the church, for we are ready to humble ourselves, be obedient to Him, and stop lording over ourselves, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

Reflection: “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” (Isaiah 57:15 KJV).
