Topic: Is Jesus Christ Truly Your Shepherd?
Key Text: Psalm 23:1 KJV - The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Almost every believer can recite or quote Psalm 23 without making any mistake. Many believers only know Jesus Christ as their Provider, because it is written: “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” It means He is always there to provide the needs of those who take Him to be their Shepherd. For this reason, many Christians only go to church to meet the Shepherd who provides bread and butter for His sheep, not the Shepherd who would chasten or correct them. Hebrews 12:8 KJV 

Do You Really Know Your Shepherd? Everyone or every believer may call Jesus Christ his or her Shepherd, but Jesus Christ said that not everyone who calls Him his or her Shepherd is actually His sheep. Jesus Christ said that His sheep hear His voice, He knows them, and they follow Him. Beloved, when last did you hear the voice of Jesus Christ, your Shepherd? Are you truly following Him in complete and prompt obedience? John 10:27 KJV

Who Is Leading You? Every responsible sheep goes the way of his or her Shepherd, hears His voice and obeys Him. Jesus Christ said in John 14:6 that He is the only Shepherd who knows the way to the Father's pasture. Today, many believers are following unfamiliar voices, and they want to get to heaven, but Jesus said that that’s impossible. "And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice."  Accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and Saviour if you haven't. John 10:4 KJV

Prayer: O Lord Jesus Christ, open my ears to hear you and you alone. Cover my ears against wolves in sheep's clothing who are looking for sheep to devour, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen 

Reflection: “For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness” Psalm 95:7-8 KJV
