Topic: You Are Called To Be Separated From The World
Key Text: 2 Corinthians 6:17 KJV - Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

As Christians, we are told in the Bible to live holy lives that reflect the nature of God. We are to separate ourselves from actions, influences, or people who could hinder our services to God. Do you understand that as a Christian you are to live differently from those in the world? It sounds simple, but there are lots of people who think they could still hang out with the same crowd after being saved. They think they could still go to the same places, but that can’t be so. 2 Corinthians 7:1 KJV 

As Christians, we have read in the Bible that we need to be separate from the world. That means, when you get saved, you change your life, your friends, and your hang outs. That doesn’t mean you totally abandon your old friends. You could still talk to your old friends after being saved, but you just have to change the topic of your conversation. You could still hangout with your old friends, but you must change the location. Instead of going out with them, take them to church with you. Ephesians 5:27 KJV 

My point is that you don’t abandon sinners, but you must not join them either. As a Christian, you are to bring them up to your level, and not let them take you down to theirs. A Christian is directed by God’s Word to apply the biblical principle of separation, so as to avoid sinful things. We are to stay clear of anything that goes against biblical standards. If the Bible says it was a sin 2,500 years ago, then it’s still a sin today. The Bible does not change to fit the changing culture. Malachi 3:6 KJV 

NB: Avoid any association that would hinder your spiritual life.

Prayer: O Lord, grant me the grace to separate myself from evil associations and demonic practices that could endanger my soul. Please, keep me holy through the help of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

Reflection: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 KJV
