Topic: The Misplaced Priority Christians
Key Text: Mark 8:34 KJV - And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
 
It really baffles me to see the way this end-time generation and professing believers take Christianity to be, different from what the Founder and foundation of the Church take His church to be. Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, suffered and died to save His children from the world and her lusts. Standing between God and man, He removed the wrath that was awaiting those with the nature of Adam, who were born into this world of sin and iniquity, and reconciled them to God through His painful death on the cross of humiliation. Colossians 1:12-13 KJV 
 
Why Did You Become Born Again? Jesus Christ did not die to make anyone rich on earth. In fact, no one could be richer on earth than Satan, who is the god of this world and the ruler of everything worldly. So, no amount of wealth anyone possesses on earth would marvel the devil. It would be a complete waste of time and fruitless effort if Christ came down from heaven only to suffer and die to make you rich for some years and see you end up in hellfire after death. Sadly, the church is almost forgetting the reason Jesus Christ died, and its primary motive for serving God is not what was in the mind of God, to make man rich in worldly things. 2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV 
 
"Jesus Christ Died to Make Us Rich!" This is where most believers and ministers of the gospel who have no relationship with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God are missing it. They believe Jesus Christ died to make them rich in cars, buildings, currencies and bank accounts. What a misplaced priority! It's written: "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." Colossians 3:1-3 KJV 
 
Do you now understand where our richness is? Not the things that are on earth, but in heaven. Like the rich man in Luke 16:19-31, every sinner is a rich person, regardless of his or her earthly possessions or position. Change your priorities now if your mindset was to earn money in sin, thinking mercy will stand for you at last. Seek holiness and righteousness, and save your soul from eternal damnation before it's too late. Matthew 6:33 KJV 
 
Prayer: O Lord God, I repent of my worldliness today. Now, I know you, Jesus Christ, did not die for me to make wealth in this passing away world, but to be rich in you and have a place in your Kingdom. Please grant me the grace to live holy from henceforth, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
