Occupy Till I Come Part 2

May 21 2019

Daily Divine Inspiration
Tues 21 May 2019
Topic: Occupy Till I Come Part 2
Key Text: Luke 19:13 KJV - And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

This is a parable of ten servants entrusted with money by a king who traveled into a far country to receive a kingdom, and told them to occupy till he comes back. What a wonderful king! He didn't leave them empty-handed, but gave them money to invest on and warned them to create profitable occupations for themselves. Luke 19:12-15 KJV

Lesson From The Profitable Servants: The Bible makes us to understand that the profitable servants went and traded with the money given to them. Note that the condition of trade wasn't pleasant since the citizens never wanted the king to reign over them. So it is understood that they would do everything to frustrate them. You could relate it to the world we are living in today; but they never gave up. They traded and gained, and glory be to God that they were rewarded. Luke 19:16-18 KJV

Lesson From The Unprofitable Servant: Many believers today are like the unprofitable servant. The Lord in His infinite mercies has given everyone gifts and talents to occupy till He comes. The Lord called the unprofitable servant a wicked servant not that he squandered the money nor was covetous, but because he kept the money and refused to trade with it. What are you doing for God with your talent? You will answer the question before the judgment seat of Christ very soon. Luke 19:19-21 KJV

Prayer: O Lord, have mercy on me in any way I have been an unprofitable servant. Please show to me my talent and grant me the grace to manifest it to the profiting of the body of Christ; in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.

Reflection: Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Matthew 24:46 KJV
