In the scripture we read, David lost the joy of his salvation when he fell into the sin of lust, covetousness, adultery, murder, pretence, and hypocrisy. 2 Samuel 11:1-27; 12:1-8 KJV. David lost his ability to draw water from the well of salvation the very day he fell into sin. The consequence was that he was disconnected from God. Beloved, holiness and righteousness are highly required to hold unto salvation. When was the last time, you checked your connection with God? Are you still in contact with the Holy Spirit as it was when you first got born again?

If your answer to the above question is No, search yourself thoroughly. Peradventure, you may have missed by falling into sin unknowingly, confess your sins, and ask God for forgiveness. One of the most important thing in the life of a believer is to ensure that his or her salvation is constantly active. It's interesting to know, that bona fide Christians exhibit joy in their lives. Their lives are usually characterized by the joy they generate. Romans 11:22 KJV

It's sad to say that many Christians have lost their joy in serving God; yet, they expect to make heaven. Unknown to them, the loss of the joy that salvation brings, is the lost of salvation. This was the main reason David had to cry out to God for the restoration of his joy that salvation brings. He understood that it's the joy of salvation that connects him with God. When anyone loses his or her salvation, automatically, connecting with God becomes impossible. Romans 14:17 KJV

Prayer: My heavenly Father, please search me and see if there is anything in me that wants to take away the joy of salvation from me. Please Father, take it away from me; and grant me the grace to hold unto my salvation till the end, in Jesus mighty name; amen.

Reflection: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. John 10:28 KJV
