TITLE: THE QUESTIONABLE CALLING

KEY TEXT: "After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances" (Leviticus 18:3 KJV).

Anyone who professes to be called by God or has the call of God upon him or her without the corresponding fear of God, which reflects the holiness of His glory, should reevaluate his or her calling. Anyone genuinely called by God must have the fear of God in him or her. Anyone's call outside of holiness is questionable. God has never left His children in the dark. He does not deliver or call anyone without giving him or her instructions or directives on how to live to have an effective and productive walk with Him. God would never jump into a union or a walk with just anyone. Abraham was a perfect example. "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly." Genesis 17:1-2 KJV

Many believers of today love to sing the same general song others are singing. They love to add their own voices to the already loud voice, but do not want to be distinguished or separated. The false preachers find it easy to deceive today's Christians because they have no personal knowledge of the Word of God. When asked who Jesus Christ is, many would not waste time answering. People would gladly respond by saying that Jesus Christ is their deliverer, healer, and provider, after all, they call upon His name all the time when they need help from Him. They run to Him when trouble and sickness knock at the door. To them, Jesus Christ is well known for all He does in their lives. Hebrews 13:8 KJV

TITLE: MAKE GIVING A LIFESTYLE

KEY TEXT: “But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased” (Hebrews 13:16 KJV).

Not all believers know the power of holy and sacrificial giving. I am not talking about giving to gain recognition or hypocritical giving. I mean giving from the heart to the glory of God alone. Giving is one way to get to the heart of God easily, for example, giving to the poor, less privileged, orphans, the work of God and those that God put in charge of your spiritual wellbeing that are genuinely working to make sure you are right with God and set for Heaven. A lot of believers do not know the judgment of God. Holiness is a complete package. Many believers think they are holy and Heaven is already sure for them because they do not steal, fornicate, commit adultery, do not put on trousers as a female, no earrings, make-up, etc. They have forgotten that giving is one of the criteria in God’s judgment. Jesus Christ said that He would tell you He never knew you because you never gave to the needy and those you had the opportunity to give to when you could. Matthew 25:31-46 KJV

TITLE: THE UNAVOIDABLE LIFE OF GODLINESS

Key Text: "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12 KJV).

Some people grew up in churches where they were taught to believe that being a child of God or being born again is access to a life void of suffering and pain. The majority of megachurch pastors, brainwash their followers into believing that life in Christ is all about enjoyment, and by doing so, siphoning money from their gullible followers. If we look carefully, we will understand what the Scripture in our key text is talking about. It makes us understand the reason most churches of today have decided to surrender to the devil. A majority of today's ministers of the gospel have willingly submitted to the world and its ruler, the devil, in order to avoid the suffering that comes through holiness and godliness. No one living a holy life will be free from persecution and attack from the world. 2 Corinthians 4:8-12 KJV

TITLE: DAILY LIFE OF A PURE CONSCIENCE IS DEMANDED

Key Text: “Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation” (1 Peter 2:12 KJV).

There is always “a fact-checking mirror” watching everyone's actions or lifestyle. No matter how one professes or pretends to be born again, holy or righteous in the eyes of people, it is certain that no one can deceive God, Satan, and himself or herself. No one can lie to himself or herself without knowing that he or she is lying in his or her heart, even if one is a chronic liar or deceiver. Anyone with a dead conscience cannot deceive himself. So, the lifestyle of honesty or falsehood starts from the inside. Many think they are holy with their dishonest lifestyles. They forget that holiness plus righteousness minus honesty is equal to hypocrisy. Now, how honest are you in your walk with God and your dealings with people? Is your conscience giving you good reports about yourself being an honest person? Remember, all liars shall find themselves in the lake of fire, and you are walking majestically to it if you are not honest. 2 Corinthians 8:21 KJV

TITLE: BEWARE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE 

KEY TEXT: “And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem” (2 Samuel 11:1 KJV).

There are so many people like David today, especially those on the pulpit. Many who were once on fire, praying fervently and evangelising when they started with God, suddenly turned their backs on God and concentrated on money immediately the ministry started growing. Now, they are too big to go to the street for evangelism, pray, and even study the Word of God. It is really heartbreaking to see that man is at his most vulnerable state in a time of comfort and pleasure. Humanity has the sense of being vigilant when faced with challenges and difficulties. No wonder God, in His great wisdom, would always allow His children to face some challenges. These challenges are not to punish them but serve as a wake-up call to them. Many vibrant men of God of yesterday, suddenly became weak and ineffective because they started living in comfort, which pushed them into living on past glory in sin and iniquity. Hebrews 10:38 KJV

TITLE: WHY WERE YOU BORN AGAIN?

KEY TEXT: "And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers”(Deuteronomy 6:23 KJV).

The greatest tragedy is for one to profess being born again, but not knowing the reason why he or she was born again. Many believers actually think they are born again, but they are very far away from what they profess. They are being deceived by the congregation they belong to. They think that being in the church, going from one pastor to another for prayers is a sign of being born again. It is so painful and heartbreaking to see that the majority of Christians in our own generation do not understand the meaning of being a Christian or the reason they are born again. Most believers never ask themselves questions about what would have made Jesus Christ leave His glorious throne in Heaven and come to this sinful world to be arrested, judged by His creation, suffer, and be killed by sinful humanity that He created with His own hands. Most believers are like the mixed multitude that left Egypt with the real children of Israel. Isaiah 53:1-12 KJV

TITLE: DO NOT FORGET TO RESPOND WITH “IT IS WRITTEN”

Key Text: “Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve” (Matthew 4:10 KJV).

Jesus Christ did not confront Satan with the power of “I bind you” when He was tempted in the wilderness after forty days and forty nights of fasting and prayer. He knew that there was a time to bind and a time to say, “It is written.” The time of trials and temptation is mostly not the time to bind and loose, but a time to apply the power of “it is written.” Jesus Christ was tempted by the devil with the things of this world. Satan told Jesus Christ to bow down and worship him, promising to give Him the glory of the world, after showing Him all the kingdoms of this world with their glory and riches. Glory be to God that Jesus Christ knew the limit of the things of this world. He knew that Satan cannot give anything good to anyone. Satan has no power over what God has not given him power over. So, He refused to bow down and worship the devil. He told the devil that it is written we shall not worship any creation, except God Almighty, the Creator. Luke 4:6-8 KJV

TITLE: THE LIMITED POWER OF DEATH

KEY TEXT: “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25 KJV).

Death is the most dreadful creature. The strongest or most fearless being on earth would see death and be humbled. People who kill human beings like themselves for rituals and other dubious purposes tremble when death knocks at their door. Most people go to church because they need protection against death (both the young and old fear death), and many are trapped in the cage of the spirit of death because of the fear of not wanting to die. Until humanity recognizes the limit in the power of death, they will never be free from the bondage they have subjected themselves in the hands of him that has no power over death (satan). Many people, weak believers especially, are subjected to the fear of death and are enslaved because of the fear of death. Satan has really used the fear of death to bind up a majority of people in his cage. Proverbs 12:28 KJV
